Vocational Training: Crafting brings Purpose
Updated: Nov 4, 2021
When another lockdown occurred in March 2021 in China, Karen Lee, ICC Volunteer and Vocational Training Project Manager, took the opportunity to encourage Yunhua and Tangang to pick up diamond painting with phenomenal results!

23-year-old Yunhua always looks forward to working at the café. When another lockdown occurred in Feb/March 2021, Yunhua became anxious about the uncertainty of when she could return to the café and work. Karen Lee, ICC Volunteerand Vocational Training Project Manager, took this opportunity to encourage Yunhua to pick up diamond painting again. Yunhua had previously worked on smaller pieces, but this time, she took on pieces that required more advanced skills. She finished two stunning pieces in two months!

Tangang is a diligent young man who enjoys his work at ICC’s Little Ark food truck. Since he was not able to go back to work, he asked if he could work on some crafts during lockdown. After seven weeks of hard work and a lot of patience, Tangang’s persistence paid off! He finished this incredible painting that shows he has an eye for creating intricate works. We have another ICC artist in the making!
