Of all the caregivers at the Hengyang Care Center, Uncle Chen really stands out. He’s the only male.

Before he joined ICC in 2013, Uncle Chen worked at a factory to support his daughter financially during her education. Once she finished her studies, Uncle Chen’s wife encouraged him to reach out to ICC.
An experienced caregiver, he and his wife provided foster care for a few children from the government welfare center—some of whom lived at their home for more than a year before being adopted.
Fostering Love & Security
The eight young men in the Hengyang Care Center’s Dolphin family were just teens when Uncle Chen became their caregiver. Many of them have special needs and require full-time, daily help. Uncle Chen recognized their deep desire for acceptance and love. As he got to know each of the boys better, his love for them grew. Each day, he encourages these young men to take every opportunity to learn new things and not allow their disabilities to define or hinder them.
Uncle Chen’s love for life and willingness to take on challenges has made him a role model for the ICC young people.
